- I don't think so. In fact, with recent video and 3D capable cards for the PC,
- the rate of change seems to be increasing. Bit depths might plateau at 24
- bits, but there are plenty of uses for more bits, both for more color
- resolution (yes, more is useful for high end work) and for alpha channels,
- Z-buffers, overlay planes, etc. And there is still plenty of room for
- improvement in other major areas, such as resolution, refresh rate, speed,
- video and 3D features.
